Why is gladiolus masculine, and orchid feminine? The War of the White and the Red Rose? Narcissus and the mirror? Freemasons and forget-me-nots? Where are the snowdrops hurrying? The Battle of Flowers in Montreux? The foolishness of geraniums?

A person’s whole life passes surrounded by flowers. And it all began long ago, when humans first started gazing at beauty. You cannot hold the Northern Lights or the shimmer of water in your hand. But the beauty of flowers — you can. You pick one and take it with you.

But it’s not that simple. Flowers change a person’s mood. They can heal, or they can make you forget everything. They can upset or poison you, or they can give strength and hope.

Every person has their own name, their own stone, their own tree and… their own flower. What does your hand reach for? What does the forget-me-not or the carnation tell you?

This is the theme of Anton Adasinsky’s masterclass in Dresden, at the residence Derevo ArtHouse. Attitude toward color in Derevo is very serious. Every light filter, the color of skin and costumes, the intensity of spotlights — for Derevo, these are among the most important tools of influence on a person. Color has its own sound, its own note. And vice versa. The human voice is colored and has weight. There is much we will share at the May masterclass.

Of course, we will not deal only with floristics. In the Derevo system, it is also work with:

– Character – Self-analysis – Study of the color palette of great painters (Chagall, Parajanov, Kabakov, Shemyakin…)

Invisible color. Yes, that exists too. Analysis of the palette of Derevo performances, etc.

We will learn freedom. To get rid of stereotypes, to change our habitual color taste. And to transform into the flower that right now will brighten the day and make someone smile.

And at the end of the workshop, the participants will perform under the sky in Dresden.
